Role
of the Council
The Parish Council advises, assists and supports the
Pastor on parish affairs. The Council also assists the
Pastor in assessing Parish needs, determining the priorities
and goals of the Parish from year to year and developing
strategies to implement these priorities and attain these
goals. The Council also provides a forum for an open
dialogue and discussion of the concerns of the Parish.
The
Council promotes and supports the Parish organizations and
ministries. It also encourages members of the Parish to
offer their gifts and talents in service of the Pastoral
mission of the Parish, as well as to the community, Diocese
and the
Universal
Church
.
Mission
of the Council
The
Church
of
St.
Elizabeth Parish Pastoral Council
serves as a community of faith and service whose primary
purpose is to assist the Pastor to lead, to inspire, and to
guide the Parish community in its Pastoral mission.
Membership
The Council is composed of the Pastor, Deacon, and
Parish Trustees and nine or more members elected by the
Parish, or appointed by the Council who serve for a term of
three years. Of the nine or more members, one member should
be a student/young adult between the ages of 15 and 18. |
